I decided to go to GMS, Green Mountain Summer, a Navigators summer training program (STP). Many of my Penn State friends have been there in the past and highly recommend it. Never had I seriously considered it until spring break in Nashville this year, when I learned much about the value of community. My heart strongly desires community, and I look forward to experiencing it and learning how to develop it. GMS will give me such an opportunity.

On Monday, President Bush announced a plan to have a moon base by 2020. That was exciting!

Yesterday, NASA announced that they found something significant on Mars and that there was going to be a presentation today at 1:00 PM EST about it.

NASA thinks they may have found water on Mars! Apparently, they have noticed changes on the planet’s surface over the last five to seven years that appear to be flows through gullies in craters on Mars. The flows are bright in color, whereas pretty much anything that happens on the planet shows up dark, not light. Water is one of the few things that would appear light.

Whether or not it is actually water is not confirmed, and it leaves a lot of questions as to how water could have been there, where it came from, why it wasn’t frozen, etc., but this is some really exciting news nonetheless!
